Location
Quechee is
located about 3 hours from Boston, 2 ½ hours from
Hartford, 1 ½ hours from Burlington, VT, and 20
minutes from Hanover, NH. It is located on
Route 4 in Eastern Vermont. All classes will
be held at the Upper Valley Waldorf School in the
center of Quechee. Several restaurants and
overnight accommodations are located within a few
minutes of the school.
The Second
Annual Twin State Suzuki Weekend Workshop provides
an opportunity for both students and parents to
learn and study the music approach developed by Dr.
Shinichi Suzuki.
Three days of individual and group
instruction, ensemble playing, and elective courses
in music, movement, and culture will culminate in a
final concert at the Quechee Community Church.
Saturday will feature an honors recital at
the school.
Students who are not studying with Suzuki teachers
but who would like to participate must contact the
program director to obtain approval.
All Suzuki
students who are able to play Twinkle, Twinkle,
Little Star and beyond, from very young children
through eighteen years of age, may participate in
the workshop. Depending on level and age, each
student will have two or three classes in the
morning and one or two classes in the afternoon.
Students with the necessary music reading skills may
also participate in an orchestra.
Parents or
guardians are required to accompany their children
throughout the day. Teenage students may
request permission to attend without parental
supervision, but must first contact the director for
further discussion.
