Suzuki Violin/Viola/Other Teacher

NH; part of the growing Upper Connecticut River Valley that
includes
Dartmouth College, a major medical center, technology businesses and a
growing arts community. Lebanon is 1 hour from Concord,
NH, 1.25 hours
from Burlington VT, 2 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from
Hartford CT.
Description:
This
position is part of a rapidly growing Suzuki String program
at
the Upper Valley Music Center (UVMC), a non-profit center
with
programs for children and adults. In addition to a Suzuki program, the
UVMC offers orchestras, choruses, ensembles, school outreach and
summer programming. Faculty and staff are encouraged to show
organizational commitment through participation in events, concerts
and programming.
Duties:
Teach
semi-private, private and group Suzuki violin/other lessons and assist
in developing a young Suzuki program. This is a contract part-time
position that has the potential to move towards full-time. Teachers
certified in more than one instrument will benefit from more teaching
hours.
Qualifications
SAA
registration required: book 3 or above preferred. Commitment to
Suzuki philosophy. nurturing, reliable, strong communication skills
and an ambition to develop UVMC programming. More hours available to
teachers certified in multiple instruments. Application review begins
immediately for employment in the fall.

The Upper Valley Music Center (UVMC) is entering
its sixth year of summer programming for youth and kids in the Upper
Valley. Our day-camps for all grades give young ones the
opportunities to explore music at an age and experience appropriate
level for everyone from the youngest child to the most advanced youth
musician. Camp runs June 23-July 3 for K-3 camps and July 7-18
for 4-12.
Qualifications
Teachers must be
professional level music instructors with experience working with
various ages and preferrably, various instruments. Degree in
music, education or equivalent experience must. UVMC Summer
Teachers must be able to work without much direction, be reliable, and
above all, "kid magnets". The program requires the ability to
teach small to large groups in various topics (SEE OUR CAMP LITERATURE
COMING SOON) Teachers should have demonstrated experience in
working with children a the age level that is appropriate for the
program

Teacher Assistants do
not need musical qualifications beyond experience in music, education,
and working with children. Teachers Assistants get the experience of
working with our professional teachers, leading kids through guided
practice, playing in ensembles with our students, and growing their own
skills as instructors in music. This is a great position for a
college student coming home to the region for the summer holiday, or
for somebody looking to experience New England. We will work with
applicants applying from out of the region to find affordable lodging. Teachers should have demonstrated experience in working with
children a the age level that is appropriate for the program.

Qualifications
This is a great
opportunity for upper-level high-school students seeking to gain work
experience or explore the field of music education. Interns will
be given tasks throughout the camp experience including working with
professional staff in music instruction where appropriate, helping lead
and participate in recreation activities, and playing along with our
professional musicians and most advanced camp students in a full
ensemble. Interns must be able to work with minimal direction, be
lovers of music, experienced in at least one musical instrument, and
have a passion or interest in working with younger kids. Interns must
be available for a minimum of two weeks of camp to be considered for
the position.
We are looking more specifically
for one high-school intern
who knows the region well and can be a roadie/tour-guide for a visiting
ensemble for two weeks. This position will involve ensuring
directions for each gig are available, managing marketing and sign
materials for concerts and keeping attendance records for each
event. The position will allow the intern the opportunity to hang
out with a professional ensemble from New York for two weeks and if
appropriate, play with the ensemble when appropriate. This intern
must be available June 23-July 6.

This is a volunteer
position.
